Steven is a highly regarded research analyst with more than 17 years experience in various organizations. Prior to joining MF Global in 2010, he was director of Research at Daiwa in Hong Kong. Steven began his career as an economist in the Bank of East Asia in 1992 before moving to cover the Asian financial sector as an analyst in various positions at Schroders Securities Asia Ltd., BNP Paribas Peregrine Securities Limited and then as a Managing Director at Bear Stearns Asia. He worked in the banking policy division in the Hong Kong Monetary Authority during 1994-96 and started as a banking analyst in 1996.
Steven was named as one of the top three Earnings Estimators for the financial and insurance sector in the Starmine Awards in 2007 and 2009.
Steven has a first class honours degree in Banking & Finance from the University of Birmingham and an MSc with Commendation in Economics from the University of Bristol. He is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
